Hello everyone. It’s been awhile since I wrote another entry of my C-S-S-A Heroes storyline so I decided to write another. I choose to write about Solange Knowles. For those who aren’t familiar with her she is Beyonce’s younger sister. She released her first album titled “Solo Star” back in 2003, but it didn’t have as much success as her older sister. Like the last two entries I’ve written this story has some elements from the MMORPG called City of Heroes, so if you have a hard time understanding what’s going on just do a search and look at the homepage of City of Heroes. Send me any feedback or suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
C-S-S-A Heroes: Episode 3
Today’s Episode: Solo Star
Disclaimer: If you actually have to read this, then you shouldn’t be reading this story at all.
It’s a nice day in Los Angeles, I’ve always wanted to visit here on a vacation. Well, I’m here, but not on vacation. Longbow, a division of Freedom Corps, decided to make this place my home for a few years to help out the heroes within this city. Not that it bothers me, I got a place apartment in a good neighborhood and Longbow pays me well. Hell, as much danger as they put me in they should.
Sorry, I haven’t even introduced myself. I’m a Natural Tanker from Paragon City named Stridan. African American, average built, black hair, brown eyes, 5’10” if you want to get into details. As a Tanker, we’re the Heroes who excel in Hand-to-Hand combat. Normally criminals try to fire at me from a distance because if they try melee combat, odds are they’ll be lying in a heap on the ground. My weapon of choice, a War Mace. I’ve been training in the weapons classes back in Paragon City and the training has paid off in a long run. Don’t get it wrong, I can still fight with my fists mind you. I try to work out whenever I get the chance so I don’t get rusty with my fighting-style, and sparring with my fellow heroes at the Freedom Corps Base here keeps me up as well.
But as I said before, it’s a quiet today here at this shopping center that Longbow has me position in now. It’s around dinnertime so it’s slightly busy. Nothing serious however, so far I’ve only stopped a few shoplifters. I was just about to call it a day when I spotted what looked like at argument going on in the parking lot. Some guy was yelling at a girl, and she looked scared. I decided to walk over and stop this before it got ugly. When I got there, he grabbed her as she tried to get into her car. I took another glance and I saw a small child in the car who looked like he was about to cry.
“Hey!” I yelled, approaching the two and going up to the girl first. My yell made the man released his grip from her. “Are you okay?”
“This ain’t your business!”, the guy yelled at me.
Ignoring him, I kept trying to talk to the girl. “Excuse me, are you okay?”
The girl said, “Yes. This guy is having a fit because my son accidently opened his door too wide and hit his car.”
“See? It ain’t my fault!”, he growled. “Look what he did to my car!” Pointing at the small mark on the side of his car.
“He’s just a baby! He didn’t mean it!” the girl yelled at him.
“Miss, just relax and try to calm down your son, okay?” I said to her, she nodded. “And your car isn’t badly damaged. Why are you making a big deal out of this?” I asked him.
“What makes you think I need to answer to some rent-a-cop?” he barked at me.
I glared at him, quickly reached into my pocket and flashed my Badge into his face. “Do I look like a fucking rent-a-cop to you?” I replied to him, he backed away slightly.
“Well, she aren’t going anywhere until she pays me for the damage she did.” he said, unsure of himself.
I couldn’t believe the nerve of this fool. Then again, idiots like him are all over the place. And I thought I’ve seen it all when I was in Paragon City. I’m going to have to try to end this without any sort of conflict.
“Look, it’s just a scratch. You can easily buff that out.” I said to him. “But if it means that much to you, just exchange car insurance numbers and I’m sure they’ll get it fixed for you.”
“What? I don’t have car insurance!”, he barks.
“Wha… Why don’t you have car insurance?” I asked, getting a bad feeling about this guy.
“That ain’t none of your business!” he said.
I rolled my eyes and sighed at this guy’s idiocy, but it did seem rather suspect when he said he doesn’t have any insurance. I tried to find another way to solve this problem without me socking this guy in the face.
“Listen carefully…” I said calmly, “It’s not her fault you don’t have insurance and it doesn’t seem there was much damage done to your car. So I’m going to ask you nicely to please just let this go. It was only an accident done by a small child and there’s no need for you to make a big deal out of this, understand?”
Apparently, he wasn’t taking that as an answer. “To hell with that, this bitch is gonna pay for what she did.” he bellowed, going around me to grab her. I pushed his hand away from her.
“No! Don’t touch her, you hear me. This is your last warning. Get in your car and leave.” I ordered him.
“I know she got money. She’s some singer. So I know she’s going to pay me!” he growled.
“Singer or not, that doesn’t give you the right to bully her just because her child accidently scratched your car!” I yelled at him. “Now this is your last warning. Leave her alone and be on your way!”
He glared at me, highly upset that I got in his way in the first place. He goes into his pocket and pulls out a sharp knife and waves it at me in an attempt to threaten me.
“I don’t care if you’re a Hero or not! Get the fuck out of my way or I’m gonna stab your dumbass!”, he cursed at me.
Untouched by his intimidation, I stand in his way and glare equally back at him. Knowing that I wasn’t fazed by his gestures, he charges at me. Dodging the blade, I quickly jab him in the face hard, knocking him against car and holding his eye in pain.
“Fuck! That hurt!”, he whined.
“I didn’t even hit you that hard! Now get the hell out of here and don’t approach her at all. You’re lucky I didn’t pull out my mace and break your damn skull!” I yelled.
In a panic, he quickly gets into his black car and speeds off. I standby, seeing if he’s going to make another pass. But it looks like he isn’t coming back.
“Thank you.” A heard a voice behind me, I turn around to see the girl whom I was protecting.
She was a pretty one. Long, black hair which when down to her shoulders, full lips, lovely eyes, and tan skin. She was wearing a white top with a black skirt. She seemed rather short, around 5’7″. I’m sure those high heels make her look taller however.
“Your welcome. Is your son okay?” I asked.
“Yeah. He calmed down. He started crying once that guy grabbed me.” she informed me.
“What happened?” I pondered.
“Well, I was about to go shopping and my son opened the door too wide. He slightly hit that guy’s car and when he got out, he went crazy.” she explained.
I sighed, “Oh brother. What a loser.”
“Exactly. I’m sure if you didn’t show up when you did he would have hurt me.” she said.
“I figured that. Plus I saw your son going crazy.” I said. “I can’t stand men who bully women or children. Seriously burns me up.”
“Knight in Shining Armor type, are we?” she giggled, “We need more guys like you.”
“I though you girls only like guys that treated you like shit? Like your friend whom I just delivered a black eye to?” I laughed.
“Very funny!” she smirked, “I’m Solange by the way.”
“Solange? Beyonce’s little sister, Solange?” I asked, unsure of myself.
“Yeah, that’s me.” she giggled. “And this is my son.” she said, as the little boy waved at me.
“Hey there little buddy.” I said to him, smiling. “And I’m Stridan. Nice to meet you. And I’m a fan of yours.”
“You are?” she blinked, “What’s one of your favorite songs from my album?”
“Crush and Solo Star.” I replied.
“Oh really?” she blushed.
“Oh I’m sorry. Am I keeping you from shopping?” I asked, worried.
“Oh it’s okay. I was just gonna buy some clothes for him.” she said, pointing at her son.
“Well, I have to go fill out a statement on what just happened here. Did you happen to get his license plate when he drove off?” I asked her.
She told me.
“Okay. Thanks. Enjoy your shopping.” I said, as I turn to walk away.
“Wait!” she yelled, stopping me.
“Yes?” Asking her, turning around.
“Ummm… This is going to sound weird, but what’s your cell phone number?” she asked.
I wondered what would be so weird about me giving her my cell phone number? Oh well, I gave it to her.
“You can call me anytime, okay?” I said to her.
She smiled and nodded. “Thanks, I’ll see you later then.”
Solange took her son’s hand and walked towards one of the stores. Meanwhile I headed out of the parking lot to the security office to fill out my report, which took about a good 15 minutes. Afterwards I decided to go to lunch, I wish this place had more of a selection for food. Oh well, I wasn’t really that hungry so I grabbed one of those large pretzels and walked around a bit more. I when back to the security office to tell them that my shift is over then left for the day. As I walked away from the office I hear my cell phone ring. I pick it up to see who’s calling me. It was her.
“Hey… What’s up?” I asked.
“Are you still in the plaza?” she asked, sounding scared.
“Yes? Why?” I questioned.
“I’m in one of the stores and some guy seems to be following me and giving me looks.” she informed me.
“Okay. I’m coming. Which store are you in?” I asked.
She told me.
I causally walk towards the store she told me she’d be waiting for me in. I quickly spot her and approach her quietly so I don’t cause a scene. She sees me and quickly hugs me.
“There you are!” she said happily, hugging me tight.
“Hey! Nice to see you too.” I replied, completely caught off guard by her hug.
She then begins to whisper in my ear, “He’s over there. Black guy with the gray shirt.”
“Pants hanging down to his ass?” I questioned.
“Yup. That’s him.” she whispered again.
She finally released me from her hug. I nodded to her and decided to stay with her and her son for the rest of their shopping. I looked around to see if that guy was still around. He looked at me angrily, I could see it out of the corner of my eye. He quickly left the store and hopped into the same black car I saw earlier, except this time someone else was driving.
“Okay, looks like he got the message.” I told her.
“Thank you again. He was probably waiting for me to leave so he could jump me or something.” she said.
“Well, are you all set? I’ll walk you to your car.” I said to her.
“Yes. Thank you.” she smiled
As we walked towards her car, she told me about how her music career was going and what movie roles she wants in the future. She was pretty down-to-Earth when she spoke to me. Not a hint of stuck up nature in her. She hopes one day to win a music award like her big sister, who currently lives in New York.
“Well, it’s been a pleasure meeting you. Hopefully you won’t have anymore stalkers today.” I grinned.
“I hope not either. Thank you for getting that guy away from me. You really let him have it.” she smiled
“Yeah, he’ll be hurting for awhile.” I responded.
“I bet. Good Night.” She said, closing her car door and waving good-bye.
I waved to her as she drove off into the street. It was now sunset and the lampposts were starting to light up. I guess it’s time for me to head home as well. I was almost at the bus station when suddenly I hear my cell phone ring. For the second time today, she calls me.
“Hey! What’s going on? Are you okay?” I asked.
“Where are you now? Can I drive by and pick you up?” she asked, fear in her voice.
“I’m in front of the bus station right now. What’s wrong?” I asked her.
“I think I’m being followed and there seems to be 2 guys in the black car.” she said.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you in front of the bus station.” I said.
I stood out in front of the bus station waiting for her to come by. About 6 minutes later, she drives up and motions me to quickly get in the car. As soon as I get in and close the door, she quickly starts the engine and drives.
“Are you still being followed?” I asked.
“I think so.” she said, driving through traffic.
As Solange drove in and out of traffic, I look in the rear view mirror to see the black car that she mentioned. It seems two guys, the one from the store and the one punched in the face earlier were following her around. I could see the look of fear in her face as she drove around.
“Solo, listen. Just relax and drive, okay? I won’t let them hurt you.” I told her.
She nodded and kept driving. I watched them as they followed us for awhile. After about 5 minutes, they must have given up and went the other direction.
“Okay. Looks like they gave up for now.” I said.
“I know this is going to sound weird, but can you PLEASE stay over with me until my parents get home? I’m not going to feel safe alone with my son.” she said, fear in her voice.
I nodded, “I understand. I’ll stay with you until your parents get in.”
“Thank you!” She said in relief.
After another 10 minutes of driving, we arrive at her house. I assume she must be staying with her parents. Hopefully, they won’t mind her bringing back company. I take her son, who was asleep in the back seat while she got her things out of the car. She opens the door to her house, her parents must have not gotten home yet. She puts her things down and I pass her son to her so she can take him to his room. I sat on the couch as I waited for her to come back.
“Sorry about that.” she said, coming back into the living room.
“It’s okay. I just hope you’ll be okay after this.” I said.
“I’ve never had to deal with something like this.” she said.
“Trust me. I’m from Paragon City and I’ve deal with alot of people who’ve had to deal with problems like yours or close enough.” I explained.
“Paragon City? Wow! I’ve wanted to visit there one day. How is it?” she asked.
“Nothing grand. My company has me stationed out here for awhile so I’m just chillin.” I told her.
Solange and I talked for a good while. I told her about my living in Paragon City and how it changed my life. We talked until we heard the door open. Her parents finally came home.
“Hi mom and dad.” She got up and smiled.
“Hey hun, how was your shopping?” her mother asked.
“It was okay. It could have been better I guess.” she replied.
“Who’s your friend here?” her father asked, pointing at me.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Stridan.” I replied, showing him my Hero ID.
“You’re a Hero? You look young.” he said.
“I’m 27. Thank you.” I told him.
“Nice to meet you Stridan.” Solange’s father said.
“Pleasure is mine Mr. and Ms. Knowles.” I smiled
“So what happened with my daughter that has you here tonight?” Tina asked.
I took me about 15 minutes to explain the situation that took place earlier today at the parking lot.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Mathew sighed.
“Yeah. Some of these guys stroke their cars more than they stroke themselves. It’s sad.” I said.
“Thank you for helping my daughter Stridan. I’m sure something bad would have happened if you weren’t around.” Tina smiled at me.
“Anytime. I better get going. It’s getting late not to mention I have to get up in the morning and fill out a report about this.” I explained.
“Are you going to be okay getting home by yourself?” Mathew asked.
“Of course.” I said.
“Okay. Good night.” he said.
“OH! Before I leave, take this card just in case you need to get a hold of me.” I said, passing a small card to Solange.
“Thanks again Stridan.” Solange smiled.
“Anytime.” I said, walking out of the house.
Alarm buzzing, I wake up around 9:30 AM and call in the Freedom Corp Offices for any assignments. Luckily, there wasn’t anything special they had for me, so I guess this is a day off for me. I get up and wash my face then get some clothes, deciding not to waste the day in bed. I got some good clothes and decided to go to the Freedom Corp Gym and work out for awhile. I was working on my War Hammer techniques on one of the practice dummies and I sparred with a friend in my Supergroup.
“Stridan! You got a vistor!” one of the employees yelled.
“I do? Good. I need a timeout anyway.” I said.
I grabbed my towel and wipe the sweat off my face so I don’t look too nasty to whomever decided to see me. I go to the front desk to see who wanted to see me.
“Wow! Hi there.” I said, not believing who was looking for me.
Solange was standing at the desk looking very pretty in her white t-shirt and blue jeans. I can see she keeps it simple when it comes to dressing naturally.
“Hey, I figured I would see you here. Are you busy?” she asked.
“Nope. I just got done with my usual workout. I stay here for about 2 hours then I’m done. Why do you ask?” I pondered.
“Well, if you’re not busy for the rest of the day would you like to hang out?” She asked me.
“Sure, why not? Let me go shower real quick then I’ll be right with you.” I said.
Showering off and getting my normal clothes back on, I meet Solange back at the desk. I ask her where she would like to hang out, unsure what ‘hang out’ meant to her.
“Not sure. Let’s just keep it simple right now. Let’s go to the park.” she suggested.
“Can’t beat that, can we?” I smiled.
After leaving the gym, we go to the park which she usually takes her son to play. Very lovely place and alot of people enjoying the day. It was a refreshing scene compared to what I usually see in Paragon City.
“This is a nice place Solange, so you take your son here often?” I asked, while walking with her.
“Sure do. He loves it here, sometimes he doesn’t even want to go home.” she giggled. “Aren’t there places in Paragon City you can relax at?”
“We have parks there. One big area called Perez Park.” I answered.
“Sounds nice.” she said.
“Well, it’s not.” I explain. “It’s been override by gangs and cultists doing their strange rituals. The Security Chief sends us heroes in to clean up the place, but it doesn’t seem to do any good. We’re slowly trying to take back the place. Hopefully one day it can be a place where people can enjoy themselves again.”
“Wow! That sucks.” she said.
“You have no idea. Trust me. You have no idea.” I say.
“So, do you use that weapon you have often?” Solange asks.
“What weapon?” I reply.
“That weapon I watched you use while you were sparring.” Solange informed me.
“Oh this?” I ask, pulling out my War Hammer.
“Yes! That.” she answered.
“Depending on the situation I’m currently in, yes.” I tell her.
Solange nods, “That thing looks like it can seriously hurt someone.”
I grin at her, “I’m not too sure. You’ll have to ask some of the villains I’m clobbered with it. But I’m sure they won’t tell you.”
Solange giggled, “Isn’t it heavy?”
“Here. Find out. You might want to use both hands.” I warn her as I hand it to her.
Waiting for her to get both hands on my weapon, I release. She’s shocked by how heavy it is and nearly falls to the ground trying to keep it up. Using whatever strength she has to lift it properly.
“So… is it heavy?” I joked as I watch her struggle with it.
“Please… take this thing.” she studdered.
Reaching over, I grab the handle with one hand and she quickly lets go.
“How can you hold that with one hand!? Isn’t it heavy?” she said, surprised.
“Nyah, it’s actually enhanced by a friend who made it for me.” I explain. “To me it’s as light as a feather. Anyone else it’s completely impossible to even swing, let alone move.”
“Not a bad trick.” Solange smiled, “But you could have told me that beforehand.”
“Nyah. I do that to alot of people.” I grinned at her, as I put it away on my side.
“Oh you jerk!” She said, playfully.
We continued our walk around the park for another hour and kept talking, until we were approached by someone wearing some dirty jeans and a red shirt.
“Excuse me sister, I need to speak to you. Alone.” he said, apparently he doesn’t want me around.
Solange shook her head, “Whatever you have to say to me you can say with him here.”
“I don’t think you understand. I need to talk to you alone.” he said again.
This time I decide to get involved. “I don’t think YOU understand. I’m not going anywhere, so say what you have to say to her with me here or move on.” I said, standing by her.
He looked at me with anger, but didn’t try anything funny. So he admitted defeat and started to talk again. “Look, I just need you to pay for the dent you put on my car the other day.”
Solange looked at him, “That’s your car? Someone else had it.”
“Yeah, that was my boy. I told him to pick up something for me and he told me that your friend here punched him in the face.” He said, referring to me.
“That’s because your ‘friend’ was acting like a fool and decided he wanted to pull a knife on me and try to stab me. So I decked him.” I said, “And if it’s your car why don’t you have insurance on it?”
He huffed, “Don’t worry about that.” Then turns to Solange. “Look, I just need you to give me the money so I can fix my car and we’ll be all set. How’s that sound?”
“You’re pathetic. Just because a small child scratched your car you’re having a fit.” she said.
“And it’s not her fault that you don’t have car insurance.” I added.
“Look. I’m being very nice to you girl.” he said, ignoring me. “Now you’re going to pay for what you did to me car or else…”
That this point, this guy is getting on my last nerve. Like I said before, I can’t stand men who bully women. So I decide to end this now. I moved in closer to this guy and got my war hammer at the ready. He eyed my weapon nervously he decided to fall back.
“Alright kid, I’m gonna see you again.” he said, as he backed off.
“No. Make sure I don’t see you again.” I said to him.
He glared at me, as if he was going to attack. I tighten the grip on my war hammer and gave him an equal stare. Whatever he was thinking to do he must have thought better of it and walked away.
“Thank you again Stridan.” Solange said, breathing easier.
“No problem. I have the feeling that the next time I see that guy it’s not going to be pretty.” I said, putting my war hammer back.
“It’s getting late, I think we better get going.” she said.
“Okay. Well, we did have a good day, until that. Luckily this time no one got hurt.” I smiled.
“I still can’t believe some people.” she sighed.
“Don’t let it bother you Solo. As my father once said, ‘Let the idiotic live in their own little world.'”, I tell her.
“Good saying.”, she smiled.
We got into her car and drove off. I tempt looking in the rear view mirror to see if anyone was following. Looks like he wasn’t trying anything today, I was relieved.
“Are you staying with your parents again tonight?” I asked.
“I don’t think so. I’m going to pick up my son then go home. I have some pretty nosy people who live next door to me so I’m sure they’ll call the police if something happens.” she explains.
“I understand. Sometimes that can be a good thing if they are nosy.” I grinned.
After giving her directions, we finally reach my apartment after about 15 minutes.
“Well… This is where I get off. It was great hanging out with you Solange.” I say before getting out of the car.
“You too Stridan.” she said, smiling.
She reached over and hugged me gently before I got out of the car and returned by apartment. Once I got in I decided to call it a day and go to bed.
The next day I begin and short patrol around the shopping area of Los Angeles. It’s around lunchtime so it’s not too busy. I was causal doing my rounds when suddenly I hear someone approach me from behind.
“Can I help you?” I said, turning around.
It was the punk who got into it with Solange the day before yesterday. His black eye is a shiny reminder of the punch I gave him for getting out of line.
“Tell me where that stupid bitch is! NOW!” he growled at me.
“Sorry. I don’t know. Now go away.” I said, turning around and walking away. But he quickly gets in front of me.
“Where’s that fuckin bitch!? My boy said he talked to you both at the park yesterday. You better tell me!” he growled at me again.
“And if I don’t?” I said, boldly.
He quickly goes into his pocket and pulls out a .38 and points it at me. “You know what this is? It’s a gun and if I was you, I wouldn’t try to do what you did the other day! Now where is that bitch?!”
POW! I sent a right hook right into his lip, knocking him to the ground. He quickly gets up and flees, probably in more pain than he was in the other day. Any other guy would have been taking his chances doing what I just did. He’s just luckily I didn’t pull out my mace and crush his skull. After that I hear my cell phone ring.
“Hello?” I answered.
“Hey Stridan! It’s Solo. What are you doing today?” she asked.
“Oh nothing. I just got done with my patrol. They don’t need me right now so I’m free. What’s up?”
“Oh? I was wondering if you could with me to the recording studio? I’m trying to get some tracks down for my new album.” She asked.
“Oh really? Sure. I don’t drive so you’ll have to pick me up, okay?” I told her.
“No problem. Where can I meet you?” she asked.
I think for a moment, then I tell her to meet me in front of this fountain near the park. 5 minutes later, her car pulls up and I get in.
“How was your morning so far?” I ask.
“Pretty good. I can’t wait to release my new album.” she said.
“Well, I bought the first album so I’ll be sure to buy the second.” I smiled.
“Thank you Stridan. I just hope it’ll be more successful than the first one.” she sighed.
“I’m sure it will. I’ve already heard some of the tracks you released on MySpace.” I told her.
“You like those? Thanks.” she smiled, looking at her, I knew it might alot to her.
“So do you normally take your fans out to recording studios with them?” I laughed as she drove.
“Very funny!” she giggled, “But I just feel safer with you for some reason.”
I smiled at that comment. It’s been awhile since I’ve talked to someone, but I know I could never start any kind of relationship with her. Her father being a control-freak and her sister being the biggest thing in the music industry, could I ever fit into her busy life? I must have been lost in my thoughts as the car stopped in the parking lot behind the studio.
“We’re here Stridan.” she said.
“Oh sorry. I didn’t mean to zone out on you.” I told her.
As we walked into the building, I could have swore I saw the black car from yesterday drive by. I shrugged it off and went inside. I watched Solange sing in some of her tracks in the live room while I stood in the control room. We were there for about 5 hours. Kinda boring, but what else was I going to do for the rest of the day? As Solange did a few finishing touches on one of her tracks I went out into the waiting room and read a few magazines. She finally came out after everyone else went home for the day.
“Sorry about that. I hope you didn’t get too bored waiting for me.” she said.
“Nyah. It was very interesting. I never really knew how singers got things down here.” I said.
“Well, it’s only 6. Do you want to come over to my place for awhile and watch TV?” She asked.
Wow! Only the second day I’ve actually hung out with this girl and she’s inviting me to her house. I must have really impressed her.
“Sure. I don’t see why not?.” I smiled.
“I have to pick up my son, he’s with my parent’s right now.” she told me.
Nodding to her, “Do whatever you have to Solange. Don’t worry about it.”
After about 30 minutes of driving around and getting her child, we arrive at her house. She gets her son out of his seat and we go inside, locking the door behind her. Solange told me she was going to put her son into bed and told me to wait downstairs for her. I nod in understanding, I looked out the window and noticed a familiar black car slowly drive by. Hopefully we won’t be having any trouble tonight.
“Hey Stridan, I’m back.” I heard her behind me, “What are you looking at out there?”
“Oh, nothing. Just seeing how nice the sky looking when the sun is setting.” I lied, not wanting to worry her.
“Well… Come on and sit on the couch with me.” She said.
“Sure thing. What’s on tonight?” I asked.
We watched some random shows for about an hour, nothing really interesting, except for that Family Guy episode which has me rolling everytime I watch it. Solange got fed up and decided she wanted to watch a movie.
“What do you have?” I asked her.
“Not sure. What are you into?” she asked me.
“Action. Comedy. Adventure.” I reply.
“Oh! I got just the…” Solange was saying.
We were startled by a loud car door slam outside. I peer out the window to see several figures approaching the house. Something tells me they don’t look too friendly.
“Solange, you’re not excepting any visitors tonight, are you?” I asked her.
“No. Why?” she asked, scared.
“Go upstairs to your son’s room and stay with him. Call the police as well!” I order her.
“Stridan, but…” she said, I can feel the worry in her voice.
“Solange! Don’t argue with me, just do it!” I tell her.
She gulped, reached for her cordless phone and ran upstairs to her son’s room.
Suddenly, I hear a door handle rattle. Apparently someone is trying to force their way in. Suddenly, I hear a loud bang against the door and the lock breaks. The door bursts open and three guys charge in, however they stop short when they see me wielding my war hammer. The one with the sledge hammer must have been the once to break the door down.
“You idiot! You said the bitch was going to be alone!” One of them yelled.
“Told you we should have got her last night!” Another one shouted.
“Tsk! Tsk! Don’t you guys know better to call first?” I taunted.
“Get the fuck out of the way! They ain’t got nothing to do with you!” One of them shouted at me.
“Listen, I socked you twice already. Damn if I have to do it again. So why don’t you leave here nicely and I promise nothing will happen to you.” I warned them.
“Fuck that! I got this motherfucker.” He said, charging at me with a machete.
Dodging his slash, I pull out my war hammer and slam it against his head, resulting with a loud crunch noise and him falling to the floor motionless.
The second one decided to come at me with a sledge hammer, which ducked under and countered with an upward swing of my mace, breaking his jaw and launching him into the air for about 2 seconds. He came down with a loud thud, knocked out.
“As for you.” I said to the last one standing, “You can leave her quietly without any trouble, or you can suffer from a broken skull. What’s it going to be?”
“Fuck you!” he shouted at me as he withdrew a gun and fired at me. His bullets deflected off my tough skin as I charged and ended his life with a skull crushing blow of my war hammer. He crumbled to the ground with blood leaking out of his ears.
Solange came downstairs after it was quiet for a few moments, “Stridan, is everything okay? I heard gunshots and…” Then she quickly studies the mess that I made out of the guys that broke into her house. “Oh my god!”, she screamed.
“Did you call the police like I said?” I asked.
“Yes! I did! Oh my god!” Solange said in horror.
“It’s okay! Relax! It’s over now.” I said, trying to comfort her.
The LAPD arrive shortly after the fight. The guy who I didn’t kill was arrested while the coroner picked up the bodies of the 2 thugs I killed out of self defense. Too bad it had to come down like that. Solange was still rather shocked by the experience she just had. I held her to give her some comfort while we waited for her parents to arrive on the scene.
Eventually, we end up in the courtroom to determine the fate of the thug who’s been harassing the young singer. He tried to plead his story, which everyone thought was utter bullshit seeing how he hired 2 other guys to attack us while we were at her house. And to add insult to injury, this guy had existing warrants on him from 2 other states. It didn’t take long for the court to find him guilty and give him 10 to 20 years. Looks like he won’t be harassing any singers again for awhile.
It’s been about 4 days since that ordeal. Today is my day off and it’s raining outside. I decided to stay in for the day and relax. I was flipping through some files I had on my computer and talking to several of my fellow heroes online. I was just finishing up on a statement when I hear a knock on my apartment door. I wasn’t excepting any visitors so I was rather puzzled on whom it might be. I looked through the peekhole to see it was the young singer whom I had protected from harm. I opened the door and smiled at her in welcome.
“Hey there! How are you doing?” I said.
“I’m good I guess. May I come in?” Solange asked.
I nodded and allowed her into my apartment. She was so pretty, wearing a white button-up shirt with some blue jeans, her hair coming down to her back. As I closed and locked the door behind us. I was shocked that she was standing in there in front of me as I turned around.
I was going to ask her if she wanted anything to drink, but she embraced me in a hug. I wrapped my arms around her to hug her back gently. She hugged me tightly as if I was a person that she hasn’t seen for a very long time.
“Umm… Wow! Where did that come from?” I asked as I released her.
“Well, I never really got a chance to say thank you for rescuing me.” she replied.
“Oh, it’s okay. Don’t worry about it sweetie.” I smiled at her. “By the way, where is your son?”
“He’s with his grandmother and grandfather right now. I told them I needed to be alone for awhile.” she told me.
“I see. So I take it they don’t know you are with me right now?” I asked.
She nodded, “Yeah, I didn’t tell them I was seeing you. I probably should have, but knowing how my father is…” she was explaining.
Thinking back of all the things I’ve heard about Mathew Knowles, I wouldn’t be surprised. Hearing the rumors about how he’s a control freak, how he doesn’t approve of Beyonce’s rapper boyfriend and what happened when Solange first got pregnant. It almost made me wonder what he thought of me when he first saw me with Solange that evening. I would hope he would be a bit friendlier after I saved his daughter from some hoodlum. I guess he’s one of those people you just can’t make happy no matter what.
“You don’t have to explain anything to me Solange. It’s okay.” I smiled at her. “Why don’t you wait here a moment. I gotta turn off my computer in my room.”
She nodded and I quickly went into my room to turn off my PC. I had to make sure my documents were saved so I didn’t have to start over any reports. Just as it’s power shut down, I turn to go back to the living room only to find Solange watching for me in the doorway.
“Geez Solange, don’t startle me like that.” I tell her.
“Sorry”, she giggled, “You have a really nice room. You keep it clean I see.”
I blush slightly, “Umm, yeah. Normally I don’t have my visitors come into my room. So what brings you over today?”
Solange walked over and sat on my bed, I decided to sit next to her to see what she had to say.
“Well, umm, I came to see you Stridan. I’ve been thinking about you ever since the day after they convicted that guy who forced his way into my house and saying to myself that if I didn’t invite you over I could have been raped or killed, or they would have hurt my son. And when I heard the gunshots go off, I thought they killed you.” Solange explained.
“It’s okay Solo. I’ve gone through some intense training so it’ll take more than bullets to take me down. I’m a Tanker after all.” I said.
“Well, at least I know you’re not fragile. I’m just glad to see that you are doing well and you didn’t get hurt protecting me. I’m really happy I met you.” Solange smiled.
“Awww it’s okay Solange. Just remember that you don’t owe me anything, okay?” I inform her.
“Are you sure?” she asked, grinning.
“I’m sure.” I reply.
“Not even… this.” she said, as she moved in and kissed me on the mouth.
“Wow. That was random.” I said, caught off guard.
She then wrapped her slender arms around me and kissed me deeply. Her lips were so soft and tender, I couldn’t believe how good this kiss felt. We lied down on the bed and made out for about 5 minutes, exploring each other’s fully clothed bodies. She made the first move by unbuttoning her shirt, I was rather surprised to see that she wasn’t wearing a bra. I decided to remove my shirt, then resume kissing in our topless state.
Stopping for a moment to catch my breath(And think about what was about to happen next), “Solange, are you sure you want to do this? Remember you don’t owe me this.”
“I know that Stridan.” she said, as she kissed my neck. “But it’s been awhile since I actually felt like this before.”
“Damn girl, you are so cute.” I said, my hands gently caressing her upper body. We kept kissing for another minute or so until she went into her jean pocket and pull out something.
“What’s that you got there?” I asked curiously.
She handed me a condom and giggled, “Sorry, I’m not ready to be pregnant a second time.” She then started to remove her jeans as I took off my sweatpants.
Putting the condom around my manhood, she pushed me down on my back and climbed on top of me. Holding my dick above her pussy, she lowered herself down slowly, her face in bliss as she completely engulfed my dick in her with ease. Waiting for a few seconds to get used to herself being filled, she started to ride me. I reached up and groped her breasts as she bounced up and down on me. I felt her cunt grip my dick as I thrusted into her, causing her to breath heavily.
“Oh god… Feels so good… Damn!”, she was letting out as I pumped into her. She was moaning out some other things, but I couldn’t even make out she was saying, all I know is that she was enjoying it.
She stopped riding me for a moment to lower her face to me and give me an open mouth kiss. Which she then restarted her efforts. I couldn’t believe the energy this girl had, it’s as if she has been without sex for a long time. She was probably savoring every moment of this. And the things she was saying, I would never think a girl like this could swear like a sailor. This was all adding to the enjoyment of the sex we were having. However, I could feel my orgasm coming. I rose myself up to hold her tight as I pumped into her.
She held on to me tighter, signaling that her orgasm was coming up. Luckily for me, my wasn’t too far off. Eventually we both reached out point of no return and released our sexual climax. She crumpled on me as I lied back on the bed, recovering from the sex.
“Damn! That was so fucking great. Completely made me forget about my ex-husband.” she said, catching her breath.
I laughed at that comment, “You’re just saying that, aren’t you?”
“Maybe.” she grinned.
Suddenly, I hear a knock at the door. I know I wasn’t expecting anymore unannounced visitors, in fact, this was getting nuts.
Solange decided to wait for me in the bedroom while I check who’s at the door. “Who is it?” I ask through the door.
“Hello Stridan?” an unfamiliar voice answers.
“Yes. Who is it?” I ask again.
“It’s Beyonce. Can I come in?” she asked.
“Umm… Sure! Let me get some clothes on. Wait a moment.” I answer.
Quickly rushing to the bedroom, I remove the condom and throw it in the trash. I quickly get my t-shirt and sweatpants on.
“Stridan, who is it?” Solange asked.
“It’s your sister!” I reply.
“Oh shit! Please don’t tell her I’m here!” she said in a panic.
“Shhh! Okay! I’ll see what she wants. Just wait here.” I tell her.
Going back to open the door for Beyonce, I allow her into my apartment. I was going to offer her a seat, but she refused.
“I’m not going to stay long. I hope I’m not bothering you.” she said.
“Oh no. It’s my day off plus I’m mostly a home body when I don’t work so it’s okay.” I inform her.
Beyonce nodded, “I see. Well, I came here to ask if you heard from Solange by any chance.”
“I haven’t left the house at all today Beyonce. Plus I haven’t seen her since the courtroom. She hasn’t called either.” I lie to her.
“I see. Well, she left her son with my mom and she never said where she was going. I figured she might have come to see you.” Beyonce tells me.
“Why me?” Asking her, nervously.
“Well…”, Beyonce paused, trying to find a way to explain. “Yesterday, I guess my father and her kind of got into it. Basically, my father told her that you saved her and just leave it at that. There was a fight over you and she stormed off.”
“Are you serious? Damn! I’m sorry if I caused any grief within your family Beyonce.” I said.
Beyonce smiled, “It’s not your fault Stridan. I mean, Solange has been talking about you alot since you saved her life. I think she really likes you. She also told me about the little walk you guys had in the park and how you defended her and her son.”
“Umm… Wow. I didn’t realize that. I figured that after that whole ordeal with those thugs she wouldn’t want to see me again. Seeing how I haven’t heard from her since the trial.” I proclaimed, not wanting to tell Beyonce that her sister is lying in my bedroom right now, resting from the sex we just had.
“Well, no one has ever saved her life before. She’s been rather lonely since her divorce.” she explained.
“I see. But like I said I haven’t heard from her at all.” I lied, “But what made you think she would be here?”
“Well, you did give her your card with your number on it. And I believe she went to the Freedom Corps Center to get your address.” she told me.
‘Great! Now I have a singer stalking me.’ I joked to myself. “As I said, I haven’t heard from her since the trial.” I tell her again.
Beyonce nodded, “Okay. Thank you Stridan. I didn’t mean to bother you.”
“It’s cool. Nice to see the big sister looking after the little sister. And I’m sure she’ll turn up somewhere.” I smiled.
“Of course she will. Hey, I gotta get going. I’m suppose to meet up with Jay-Z at his club.” Beyonce said.
“Okay. If I decide to go out anywhere I’ll keep my eye out for your sister.” I tell Beyonce as I walk her to the door.
“Thank again, you have a good day now.” Beyonce said, as she stepped out of the door.
Waiting for a few minutes to make sure she was completely gone. I go into the bedroom and check on Solange, who was in my bed under the covers to conceal her naked form.
“You can breath now. She’s gone.” I said.
Solange let out a sigh of relief, “Sorry. I know it was my big sister, but I just didn’t want her to know I actually came out to your apartment because I know she would tell my father and then I’d really get it.”
“Relax Solange.” I comforted her, “What will you do now?”
“Well, can I stay her for another hour or so?” she asked.
“Ummm… I don’t know. I mean, you really should get back to your son after all. He’s probably wondering where mommy is right now.” I tell her.
“Oh please, just a little while?” she asked me, still in my bed as I stand above her.
“And if what your sister tells me is truth, I really don’t want to cause any trouble in your family if your father doesn’t like me.” I say to her.
As I was talking to her, she reached out with her hand and started to caress my semi-hard dick through my sweatpants.
“Solo, are you listening to me?” I asked.
Apparently she wasn’t as she pulled my sweatpants down to get at my dick, which was now fully erect. She tinted her head forward to lick around the head of it, causing me to shudder slightly.
“Solange?” I asked, but no response.
Well, she did respond. She looked up at me with a wicked smile, then went back to my cock and brought it to her mouth.
I gasped at the suddenly warmth and wetness that surrounded my dick as she performed fellatio on me. I reached down and ran my hand through her hair as she contiuned to suck me off, making very low teeth contact. She devoured as much of my cock as she could as I watched her bob her head up and down on me. I was shocked that she was give such pleasure like that.
“Oooh Solo, that feels good.” I breathed out.
I felt myself about to reach an orgasm, but I’m sure she didn’t want me to cum in her mouth. So I decided to give her a little warning.
“Solange… sweetie…” I moaned, “I’m going to cum now.
She didn’t seem to hear me or she didn’t seem to care, she just kept gobbling on my penis. It was only a matter of seconds before I blew my load. So I tried to warn her again.
“Oooh Solange… I’m going to cum.” I moaned louder.
Just as she pulled her mouth off, she was assaulted by a blast of white ooze exiting from my dick and coating her pretty little face. She closed her eyes tightly, apparently caught off guard by my orgasm. And to be honest, she looked kinda cute with cum all over her face. I reached over to my nightstand and gave her a few pieces of tissue to wipe her face, which she quickly did.
“Ummm… Sorry.” I said.
“Yuk! You could have warned me.” she said, wiping her face.
“What are you talking about?! I warned you twice!” I tell her.
“As long as you didn’t get any in my hair.” she said.
I looked in her hair to see if I anything got into her hair, “Nope. Just your pretty face.” I said, laughing.
“No kidding. Was it that good?” she asked, still wiping her face.
“I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me?” I laughed again.
“Ha! Ha!” she smirked, as she finished wiping her face. “So, can I stay for a little while longer.?”
“Yes you can. But you really should talk to you father. I don’t know what was said but I don’t want to be the cause of any grief between you two.” I told her.
“Yes. Thank you Stridan.” she smiled and kissed me on the cheek.
“And Solange…” I added, “Honestly, I think your sister did know that I was hiding you here.”
“You think so too, eh?” she asked.
Afterwards, we got up and put our clothes back on. We hung out in the living room and watched some TV together until she finally decided it was time to leave.
The next day I was at the gym sparring with one of my partners from my supergroup. About 45 minutes of sweating and fighting I decide to take a break. My timing couldn’t have been better, for one of the employees yelled that I had a visitor.
“Damn Stridan, getting famous here I see.” my partner grinned.
“Please! It’s not like that.” I said.
I quickly wipe the sweat off my face and go to the front desk to see who could want to see me. At first I didn’t want to believe it, but it turned out to be Solange’s father, Mathew Knowles, along with his wife Tina Knowles. Whatever he wanted from me, I knew I had to prepare myself for the worse.
“Hello Stridan. It’s nice to see you again.” he said, reaching out his hand.
“Hello Mr. and Ms. Knowles. It’s good to see you as well.” I replied, taking his hand and shaking it, then nodding to Tina, who smiled at me. “Is there anything you needed from me?”
“No need to sound nervous young man. I’m here to thank you for protecting my daughter and my grandson since I never really got to do it the day of the trial.” he stated.
“Oh, um, you’re welcome sir.” I said, clearing my throat.
“Another thing, my daughter ran off the other day and she came over to see you. Don’t try to feign ignorance because she told me. What did you two do together exactly?” he asked.
Uh oh! If I told him that I had sex with his daughter he’ll most likely murder me. I was in a jam here, but I decided to come up with something that hopefully he’ll take as an answer.
“Nothing. We simply just watched TV and talked. Serious.” I said, hoping he’ll fall for it.
“Good. Because that’s what she told me.” he smiled.
“Mr. Knowles, I’m sorry if I caused any grief within your fam…” I said, but he cut me off.
“Don’t worry about it son. It’s not your fault. I can’t control who my daughters decide to be with nor will I never. As long as they are happy with who they are with then I really don’t have any say in their situation.” he explained.
“I understand. It’s like my father told me. We are all responsible for our own destiny in life.” I said.
He nodded, “Very good. I’m glad you see it that way. But I am going to say this to you.”
Here it comes, the old ‘stay away from my daughter’ line. I knew it was coming sooner or later. My braced myself and got ready.
“You better protect my daughter the same way you protected her that day those thugs invaded her home, do you understand me?” he questioned.
“Yes sir.” I replied simply.
“Good. Because if anything happens to her I will hold you responsible.” he said.
I nod in understanding. I guess this worked out better than I thought.
“Very good. You have a nice day now.” he smiled and walked away, but Tina stayed for a moment as if she had something to say. She did.
“I also wanted to thank you for saving my youngest daughter and my grandson.” Tina said, smiling.
“Your welcome Ms Knowles..” I nodded, then she came forward and hugged me.
As she released me, she whispered, “One more thing Stridan. I know you and my daughter didn’t just watch TV when she came over that day.”, she backed off and winked at me.
“Ummm… Excuse me?” I asked.
She giggled, “You may able to fool my husband, but not me. I just hope you were gentle with her.”
“I was.” I replied, still not believing what she just said.
After that semi-awkward meeting, it came clear that Solange Knowles are going to remain in my life for a very long time. In fact, her father actually paid me to go on tour with her as her security guard. Solange decided to keep me in the rooms with her, even while she slept. She tells me she has nightmares every now and then of what would have happened if I wasn’t there that night those guys broke into her house, but I comfort her and tell her it won’t ever happen. And besides a nice paycheck her father gave me, she also gives me a few benefits behind closed doors. Beyonce may be the more famous sister, but Solange will always be my favorite singer among the two.
